This is the preliminary exercise I completed with George Blackwell, Fern Howe-Shepherd and Gabby Janes.
The exercise was generally successful overall for the specific details we had to follow.
Basic camerawork has been applied to make the film coherant and the plot is understood while watching the short film. 180 degree rule was followed throughout the film, filming the conversation in only one area across an imaginary line. The camera itself was steady when filming, apart from one small moment when the camera jolts.
Editing helped in further illustrating the plot. We used shot-reverse-shot and over the shoulder/point of view to describe the situation. A match on action pan followed the actor. To improve we could have added more shot variations to make the scene more interesting.
Mise en Scene was acheived to the extent of having good lighting. The setting complimented the mood of the scene by having a large empty space around the table where the characters were sat. Stacked chairs also seemed to add to the scene.
There was some confusion over the camerawork in relation to editing but other than that the team all worked well and everyone contributed equally. Personally, I did the majority of the filming.
